Fishing And School

Well, it's been busy, busy around here. We took the boys fishing last weekend. Both boys had a lot of fun. The fish they caught were very small, but that didn't seem to bother them. Also, Noah started his last year of Preschool. This year he gets to ride the bus and he was VERY excited about it. Boy is he growing up fast!

Noah got a new backpack this year and insisted that Elias get his old one. After I gave Noah his new backpack, he ran to his room, got his old one and gave it to Elias and the two of them ran around with their backpacks on all day. Noah also insisted that Eli wear his backpack while we waited for the school bus on the first morning of school so they would be "buddies". Elias seemed to miss Noah while he was gone, but also really seemed to like having mommy all to himself. Overall, our first week of school went very well.

Ohio State Fair

Well, this post is a little out of order, but I wanted to put it out there anyway. My husband is a professor of technology and thinker of many strange (but fun) ideas. A little over a year ago, he and his students decided it would be fun to program a robot to serve Ice Cream. This robot has now gone through two prototypes and has become a traveling robot. This year it was at the Ohio State Fair for a few days, so I took the boys to see daddy one day.

I will admit, I'm not a fair girl. We take usually go to our county fair each year because it's right down the road from our home, but we usually wait for free day and only go for an hour or two. Noah has never been a ride kinda guy, but this year he got brave and did a few rides. The boys also had fun seeing daddy's robot, and of course having some free ice cream too :). We also met Grandma and Mk. Susan there for the fun (the Mk. isn't a typo, I've called her that since I was a little kid, she's a long time family friend.

Elias seemed to enjoy his first fair too, but he most enjoyed trying get the candy that had fallen behind the glass in the robot.

Great Wolf Lodge

Every year my Mother, Sister and I take the kids somewhere fun for a few days. This year we went to the Great Wolf Lodge in Mason. The kids had a wonderful time. Noah is still sporting his wrist band that acted as his pass to get into the park. I kept telling him that he can take it off, but he really likes it :). I'll most likely make him take it off before preschool starts on the 25th.

The wave pool was the biggest hit with the kids. Elias was like a crazy man playing in the waves. Noah liked going up into the water fort, but didn't like to go alone (needless to say I was in the water fort a lot more than I really wanted to be). On the way home my niece Audrey was already planning next year's trip for us :).

The only thing that made me sad was my camera. For some reason it has started to take very "grainy" pictures. I've reset it and hopefully won't have that problem again, but a lot of the pictures are of poor quality. It's a relatively new camera too :(
