More Easter Fun

Both boys had a great time with Easter this year. Noah got his weight in candy at his preschool party and from his grandparents, so mommy "wrote a letter to the Easter Bunny" telling him that he need not bring candy this year. The Easter bunny responded by bringing bubble bath and a few small toys for each of the boys (well, I think Noah got some M&Ms, but other than that, no candy). My mother also came up to help get the house ready for the family get together and Elias was obsessed with wearing her shoes as you can see above. The second she took them off he was stepping into them.

Noah was up VERY early on Easter, so we allowed him to peak at his basket before Elias woke up. He thought that was very cool and he really enjoyed the whole concept this year. I figure Elias would do better with a good nights sleep rather than getting up at 6:30am to look at a basket ;).
The boys also scored two Easter egg hunts (luckily one had mostly coins in the eggs) and Elias seemed to like collecting the eggs, but would putter out after awhile. Noah was in it for the long haul. This was a calm and fun holiday, everyone was happy and drama free, what more can you ask for?

Big Steps Forwards and Holiday Fun

Mr. Elias is now sleeping in his own room!!!!! Mommy and Daddy have their space back and Elias doesn't seem to even notice the change. He even naps there without any fuss. Good things are happening :).

Elias also got his first taste of the ever so popular Easter tradition of Easter eggs. He enjoyed watching, but wouldn't sit still enough to really get into the action. We ended up putting him in his high chair and letting him watch. I felt really bad about that, but I also wanted to make sure that the only things we dyed were the eggs and not my floor, table or children :). Noah was a pro at it this year and had a lot of fun putting crazy faces on his eggs.

Shameless Picture Time!

If I'm cute can I splash in that red dye?

Weekend Away

Adam was going out of town this weekend on business, so I decided to take the boys to see my parents who had recently returned from Florida (snow birds). I also knew that my niece Audrey was dying to see "her little meatloaf" (how she came up with that we have no idea, we have just been going with it).

The visit went very well and the best part was... Elias slept great away from home! I'm not sure why I'm so shocked by this because he has moved around quite a bit in his short life, but we were still not sure what to expect. I also learned that Elias is a good shopper. We went to the outlet mall and he really enjoyed strolling around while I shopped, which also shocked me because he's not really a sit still kinda guy. I guess all of the moving and new things to see made up for the fact that he wasn't in control of which direction he went.

Noah also had a great time playing with Audrey at the Outlet mall playground while Grandma watched. A good time was had by all.

The boys with cousin Audrey (didn't get any pics with the grandparents or Aunt, Uncle or cousin Nathan... I was sleeping on the job!).

We Survived!

Yeah, We Did It!

The Post Placement visit was a piece of cake! Our new social worker is very nice and down to earth, so things should go well from here. Noah, our normally shy child, was full of energy and kept us on our toes, but after we got him some books he was fine. Elias was very interested in showing the Social Worker all of his new words and babbled the poor woman's ears off :). Now I have to get some pictures printed off for her and we are done with that. I'm not sure it's worth the money we have to pay to do it, but that's a totally different story.

Elias has been learning some new tricks that I'm not sure I'm excited about. He seems enjoy seeing how high he can climb on things. His favorite spots are the back of the sofa and standing on the chairs. I'm trying to teach him that we don't really do that, but he just laughs at me... I'm in so much trouble with this one :). Noah has been telling lots of stories lately about his new friend "super boy" who saves the day by doing all sorts of crazy things. He is quite the character (this was they boy I wasn't sure would ever talk).

More Shameless Kid Pics...

This smile was given right after I was trying to get him to stop climbing!

This is what I get when I ask Noah to smile for the camera...need to work on that one :)
